The purpose of this workshop is for residents, urban planners, and governmento fficials to come together with experts in noise problems and learn from one anotherabout current problems and solutions in dealing with community noise.This workshop continues the inquiry and information outreach begun last year at thesuccessful Community-Outreach Workshop jointly sponsored last year by the Acoustical Society and the lnstitute of Noise Control Engineering in Baltimore.
Discussion topics are concerned with intrusive sounds common in urban settings, such as Seattle. Local experts are speaking on the following topics:

- Tim Sexton Washington State noise Laws, traffic and finding a quieter medium
Julie Wiebusch Seattle Nightlife Advisory Board addresses issues of urban core nightlife noise
