Argument leads to stabbing at Bellevue Ave apartment building

An argument between two men hanging out at an apartment building in the 1700 block of Bellevue Ave lead to a fight and a stabbing that landed one man in the hospital and the other in jail early Sunday morning. Here is SPD’s report on the 2:58a incident:

On July 31st, at approximately 2:45 AM, East Precinct officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1700 Block of Bellevue Avenue.  Apparently, the male suspect and victims are all acquaintances.  All were drinking inside the residence.  The suspect and the male victim got into an argument.  The argument escalated and the suspect stated that he was going to stab the man.  He used a kitchen knife to cut/stab the victim in the left side of his neck.  The other victim, a female, attempted to break up the fight and she sustained a blow to the jaw area, as well as an injury to her hand.  Officers contacted all the parties involved and took the suspect into custody without incident.  Seattle Fire Department responded and treated the victim at the scene.  He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center with a non life-threatening injury.  The 30 year old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.

I’ve been drunk and I’ve been angry, but I’ve never stabbed anybody in the neck. The worst I might do is pee on you.

Can someone explain to me why the fire department, at 3 in the morning, with no traffic, as they pull up in front of the address, needs to blow their fucking horns? Is that their way of making sure everyone in the neighborhood is awake?

I am the male victim…

Firstly, we were not drinking in the residence… We closed out the bar and the suspect had given me his keys as he was too drunk to drive, and had agreed to sleep on my couch. When we arrived back home, he requested his keys, and I refused them. He then demanded again, and was again declined. He then swiftly grabbed a knife from my knife block and tackled me, putting the knife to my neck. No statement was made that he was going to stab me, he simply attacked. The female victim did not try to break up the fight, she was “taken hostage” when I had disarmed the suspect of his weapon.

So, if you, Etaoin Shrdiu, believe trying to keep someone from driving drunk and getting a DUI, or KILLING SOMEONE YOU MIGHT KNOW makes me a hill billy, then…….. YEE HAW MOTHER F*CKER!!

I’m not trying to be a smart-ass here, but I think that’s their way of trying to let any potential assailants/criminals know that they are outside. I’m sure the victims would appreciate it; I know I would – and I wouldn’t care one bit who it woke up.

Hey, nobody said a Capitol Hillbilly couldn’t also be a good citizen. Kudos on keeping your drunk pal off the road.

It’s amazing to me how far apart the police report is from what the victims relate happened. Why do the police even take statements if they’re just going to make it up, anyway?
