SASSY SEATTLE START-UP BRINGS CUSTOMER LOYALTY TO THE 21ST CENTURY

Gone are the days of cluttered wallets full of unused and forgotten punch cards. Punchkeeper, a Seattle based start-up, recently launched a smart phone app that aims to replace the traditional loyalty cards wasting valuable wallet space.

The app is free to download and makes organizing and makes remembering to use loyalty cards effortless. Android and Apple users use the app to scan a unique QR code from participating businesses and store an unlimited amount of digital loyalty cards in their phone.

The team is comprised of developer Jon Ohrt, designer Matty Mitchell, and recently-graduated Seattle University MBA student Val Trask. “Physical loyalty cards are annoying for both business owner and consumers,” said Trask, “We don’t think it should be that much work.”

Punchkeeper is already being used by businesses selling everything from pizza to pedicures – Lunchbox Laboratory restaurant, Z Pizza, Envy plant shop, The Sock Monster, Polished spa, Bon Appétit espresso drinks, and Po Dog are just a few of the businesses already offering their services. “We started with some of the coolest and most eclectic shops and restaurants in Seattle. Building on the success during our beta testing, we are now looking to expand nationwide,” said Trask.

To kick off the official app launch, Punchkeeper is running a sassy contest asking people throw a punch and capture it on video tagging Punchkeeper. The video with the most views wins an XBOX Kinect bundle. Check it out at www.youtube.com/punchkeeper.

To download the app, learn more or to request new store locations in your city, visit their website at Punchkeeper.com. Using the site businesses can also sign up and start using Punchkeeper in just 20 minutes.
