Group planning downtown bus stop marches against Metro cuts

Organizers working to drum up support for the Congestion Reduction Charge effort are looking for your help as the King County Council prepares to decide on the funding solution at their August 15th meeting. Details on how to help the Save Our Metro! campaign are below. You can also send the council mail at [email protected].

August 9, 10, 11, 12: Join the Save Our Metro! campaign downtown during rush hour, where we will be spreading the word about the proposed Metro bus cuts and mobilizing our fellow bus riders in preparation for a demonstration at King County Courthouse next Monday, August 15. Every day this week we will be meeting at Westlake Park, 4th and Pine, at 5:30 pm and then marching as a group from bus stop to bus along the sidewalk on 3rd Ave. Look for the gold t-shirts. Check our website www.saveourmetro.org for updates and additional meeting times. Contact us at [email protected].

August 15: Demonstration starting 1pm at King County Courthouse against the proposed cuts to Metro bus service. The council will vote on the $20 congestion reduction charge (which would raise enough funding to avert immediate cuts) sometime during the afternoon. Bus riders, let’s come together and show that we will not stand by silently while this vital public service is dismantled! Tell the council not to cut our buses!
