Opportunistic 12th Ave thief makes big haul: 2 guitars, 1 bike + lots of effects pedals

A group of 12th Ave co-workers is probably not very happy with each other this week. Last Wednesday, a thief had the good fortune to be able to wander into their office building on 12th Ave, walk off with more than $3,000 in musical gear and guitars and a $1,500 bicycle, and leave the scene with nobody noticing in an early evening heist.

According to the police report on the incident, somebody entered the business in the 1800 block of 12th Ave between 5 and 6p on Wednesday, August 3rd and made off with the gear, two guitars and the bicycle belonging to people who worked there. Taken were a black and white 2010 Fender Telecaster valued at $600, a 1990 Les Paul Gibson guitar valued at $1,500, a backpack filled with $1,000 worth of guitar pedals and equipment and a $1,500 Specialized 21-speed road bike.

According to the report, on-duty workers said they had not seen anyone enter the business because the office was not in view of the front door or room the items had been inside. Police looked for fingerprints at the scene but were not successful.

If anybody rides up to you on a fancy bike and asks you to join their band, call police.
