The old Bellevue Ave E houses that briefly took a turn as a neighborhood art exhibit are being torn down and salvaged for their more valuable remaining assets. Developers Point32 tell CHS the homes were offered on the market for basically nothing — $1, anyone — but there were no takers due to the costs associated with moving a house including temporarily taking down power lines and trucking the fragile wood frames. Instead, a salvage company came in and reclaimed things like windows, lovely old wood flooring and fixtures. And this organ. Removal captured by Bradford Bohonus and submitted to the CHS Flickr Pool. You can see more of the MadHomes and Bohonus’s 360 panormas on his site.
Also to be noted: Bohonus shot this image with an iPhone. CHS has no more excuses.
The coming development will incorporate the historic BelRoy Apartments. You can read more about the project in our latest write-up on the development here.
