A man who had just left a nearby business was jumped in a street robbery early Sunday morning in the 600 block of E Pine.
According to the SPD report on the incident, the man was leaving a watering hole in the area just after 2a Sunday morning when he was grabbed by a man trying to take his backpack and his phone. The suspect shoved the victim to the ground and ran off with the bag and the phone. The victim chased the suspect for a short time but could not keep up.
A search of the area didn’t turn up the suspect.
It’s been just over a week since the last Capitol Hill area street robbery we reported. In that incident, a man was struck over the head and lost his phone in an E Union mugging on Saturday, September 3rd.
Why are there zero details in this article?
‘nearby business?’ ‘watering hole?’
Names, places, dates, times, and details. That’s journalism.
THIS is ‘something happened to some guy somewhere.’
…I suppose..I don’t exactly have any room to bitch about it because it’s not like I’M contributing anything but criticism.
I need a cocktail.
Go have one at R Place. I’m guessing that’s where this was. I also wondered why the bar name is never included? To protect advertisers?
I mention business names frequently — it’s rare when I don’t.
When I don’t mention a business name, it’s typically because we can’t determine what business was involved. The SPD reports don’t include business names. Ever. When you see them on CHS it’s because we’ve figured out the details and are sharing what we know.
Enjoy your drink, jfd.
Was there any description of the assailant? It helps to mention this if at all possible, as then others can be on the lookout. Or, as I suspect, is this information witheld for pc reasons?
We provide suspect descriptions when available from SPD
