Boylston shooting victim goes home, says didn’t have chance to say no – UPDATE: Get better, Busbetch

The victim in Sunday night’s shooting on Boylston has been released from the hospital and is resting at home with friends and family, a friend of the Capitol Hill man tells CHS. The friend also says the man wants people to know the shooting wasn’t a situation of a victim stubbornly creating a dangerous situation by refusing to hand over his wallet.

According to the friend, the victim was walking with a woman late Sunday night in the 1700 block of Boylston when the two were confronted by a man with a gun. In the initial SPD information on the incident reported by CHS police said the victim was alone and refused to hand over his wallet. The victim says that’s not how things actually happened. According to the man, the suspect demanded the woman’s purse and his wallet but immediately fired the pistol before either could react. The shot went through the front of the victim’s stomach luckily tearing only tissue and muscle and missing any vital organs.

The Capitol Hill resident who works as a driver for Metro has a good support group taking care of him, the friend tells CHS. Hopefully, he’ll enjoy a speedy recovery.

In the meantime, SPD was still searching for the suspect — described as a thin white male in his 30′s, 5’7″, brown hair, wearing a Seattle Seahawks jersey and dark-colored pants — and the Jaguar an eyewitness said may have been the getaway car.

Thanks for sharing your story and being so positive. I hope one of that bastard’s friends or family has the balls to turn him in.

The busbetch and I live in the same apartment complex, so I dropped in to wish him well today. We chatted for awhile regarding the incident, and then he showed me the wounds. Busbetch is in high spirits and was his usual, eclectic self.

Maybe showing this image will help someone who knows the perp come forward and turn him in.
