SPD searching for possible Boylston shooting getaway car

The search for the suspect in Sunday night’s shooting on Boylston continues as SPD has distributed a photo of the type of car identified as a possible getaway vehicle in the crime.

“A witness saw the suspect vehicle being driven in the area prior to the shooting and again when it drove up and picked up the primary suspect just after the shooting,” the SPD report accompanying the photo states.

The report also includes a more detailed description of the suspect and his possible driver. “The suspect (shooter) is described as a white male in his early 30’s, very thin, with brown hair, brown eyebrows, a very defined jaw, and thin face.  He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, a sports jersey (white jersey with blue stripes and blue numbers) and dark shorts.  A description of suspect #2 (the driver) is not available at this time.”

SPD notes the picture is not of the actual Jaguar spotted at the scene but shows a similar vehicle.

On October 2nd at approximately 11:25 p.m. an adult male was walking home with a female friend in the 1700 block of Boylston Avenue.  An unknown adult male suspect armed with a revolver emerged from between two parked cars and confronted the victims at gunpoint, demanding the male victim’s wallet and the female victim’s purse.  The male victim turned towards the female at which time the suspect shot the male victim once in the torso.  The male victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

The suspect immediately ran southbound on Boylston, then west on East Olive Street to Belmont Avenue where he got into the passenger side of the suspect vehicle, a silver Jaguar 4-door sedan (similar to the one pictured above).  The suspects fled the scene in the Jaguar and remain at large.  None of the victims’ property was taken.

A witness saw the suspect vehicle being driven in the area prior to the shooting and again when it drove up and picked up the primary suspect just after the shooting.

The suspect (shooter) is described as a white male in his early 30’s, very thin, with brown hair, brown eyebrows, a very defined jaw, and thin face.  He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, a sports jersey (white jersey with blue stripes and blue numbers) and dark shorts.  A description of suspect #2 (the driver) is not available at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspects or the suspect vehicle is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535.  Anonymous tips are welcome.

Note: The above pictured Jaguar is not the actual suspect vehicle but is similar to the vehicle being sought.

This type of post is another great reason to have hyperlocal Web news sites like CHS. While all the news about Capitol Hill crime can be distressing, and while I sometimes agree with other CHS commentators that we’re experiencing a crime uptick, maybe the reality is that we simply have greater access to very local news. So that means we’re that much more aware of the crime (and of lots of good things too) happening in our ‘hood. In any event, thanks, CHS, for keeping this Boylston shooting incident top-of-mind. Wouldn’t it be great if your reportage led to the apprehension of the shooter and get-away driver? Let’s hope.

Having more access to stories really does make things seem worse but at the same time gives WAY more exposure to potentially catch people. Obviously closed circuit style video in London say is the extreme. Thanks to Jseattle for helping the comunnity via all these police report links…etc.

Find this guy and charge hime with attempted murder. I hope the victim is recovering and sending vibes to him….total BS to get shot by a crackhead walking home!

The victims is a good friend of mine. He’s healing and doing better than expected. The bullet did not hit any vital organs. He is resting and healing at a good location. He has also brought blessed Thai incense to the spot where it happened and asked that peace be returned to the area. He’s an amazing individual and we are all grateful that he is still with us.

Personally, I’m not so nice, I guess. I want to find the SOB and get him charged with attempted Murder or aggravated Assault and attempted Robbery.
