Alert cop busts two leaving Broadway QFC with ‘several’ bottles of wine, sake under jackets

An observant East Precinct officer is credited with nailing two alleged wine and sake thieves early this morning at the Broadway Market QFC. According to Lt. Joel Guay, the officer noticed two “known shoplifters” walking to the grocery store in the 400 block of Broadway E around 4a Thursday morning. Guay said the officer waited near the market and was ready when the men exited the store.

… the two suspects walked swiftly out of QFC with several sizeable bulges in their pockets where none had been before.  The officer contacted them, and ultimately recovered several bottles of wine (and sake) they had stolen. QFC video showed the suspects placing the items into their pockets…

The two men were arrested and booked into King County Jail.

I know this isn’t funny, but yet it is. That said, when you have created the reputation of being referred to as “well known shop lifters.” Maybe after the second or third time you might think about hitting up the QFC or Safeway off the hill. Like momma used to say they call them dumb criminals for a reason.
