Seattle Fire responded quickly to a kitchen fire in the Chutney’s restaurant building at 605 15th Ave E just after 10p Sunday night. We made brief mention of the incident last night. Here are a few more details from Seattle Fire. As we reported Sunday night, the fire was restricted to the restaurant’s kitchen area and did not spread. We’re told Engine Company 25 was able to knock down the fire without any significant damage to the rest of the building and no injuries. Crews stayed at the scene to uses industrial fans to clear the restaurant of smoke after the initial response. 15th Ave E was blocked in both directions for about an hour during the response and clean-up.
