CHS swung through Interlaken Park just after 10:15a Sunday to watch the leaders of the 2011 Seattle Marathon swoosh through mile marker 22.5. We caught men’s winner Jesse Wiliiams, bib #3, already minutes ahead of his nearest pursuer. The 2011 men’s unofficial top five finishers are below. Full results are here.
The female leader wasn’t far behind but we’re still working to identify her as unofficial women’s results weren’t yet available and she had donned a coat over her bib to fight the soaking rain. Also pictured below are perennial competitor Ralph B. and rainbow-shorted Jesse Stevick, the unofficial 4th place finisher and winner of best shorts as judged by an Interlaken Park voting panel.
I was wishing I had a chance to interview Ralph. Best marathoner of the day! He was greeting folks and cheering them on while he ran.
