Seattle weather: the Scots have a word for it

If you’re seeking the perfect word to describe our typical climate to outsiders (perhaps as a covert member of “Lesser Seattle“), I would heartily recommend the Scots word:

Dreich

It’s used in everyday conversation (i.e.  in “English”, not in Gaelic) in Scotland.

Definitiion:

A combination of dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather. At least 4 of the above adjectives must apply before the weather is truly dreich.
