The votes are in for 2011’s ‘most important’ new Capitol Hill restaurants and bars

CHS started the new year with a post that put Capitol Hill bars and restaurants into a bit of a tizzy. We asked you to vote for 2011’s most important new restaurants and bars. Hundreds of you did. And, like any good Internet voting, some people voted again. And again. And again. That’s fine by us. No rule against it. If you want to see the full results, we’ve posted those vote totals here. But we’ve also scrubbed the totals and gave everybody (OK, every IP address), one opportunity to vote. The adjusted results are below. They’re the ones we’re going with. It was all for fun and games, anyhow, so we hope nobody has their feelings hurt. We like the rankings for the votes that came in up and down the list. We like that Yogurtland nearly tied Terra Plata. We like that Tacos Chukis has a lot of love. Congratulations to Canon, adjustments or no.

Saison has got to feel bad. They are below “other.”

I like Saizen, but I wouldn’t consider it 2011’s ‘most important’ new restaurant or bar by a long stretch. I’m a bit surprised Varro got votes, given how much trouble they seemed to have and their eventual implosion. And I’m happy Kanape – one of my favorite places on the Hill – got some votes.

Surprises me that Poquito’s is there. Makes me wonder if we’d had a new T.G.I.Friday’s, or an Olive Garden, would they have made the list?

several of those establishments should not even be on the list. *ahem* chinos, poquitos, ba bar… and some of the ones on the list should be bumped up. SKILLET! can i get an amen?!

Altura is the best new restaurant in Seattle imo. Love that it’s so close.

I just cannot understand why it’s so high on the list, above Altura and Marination Station.

Amen, from your fingers, to CHSBlog, to God’s ears.
