Lucky 8’s China House

The food is mediocre at best, I have seen the employees drop food on the ground and then put it back in the fridge as if nothing happened. They cook your food in a ton of oil so every dish they put out is super oily and gross. They use cheap ingredients and in the noodle dishes they use whatever noodles they can find for the cheapest instead of the noodles that they are supposed to use. I have seen them eating out of the woks before they plate the food that is going out to the customers. There is not a single chinese employee they are going off recipes from the internet instead of making a authentic chinese dish. The head chef is rude and doesn’t take feedback from his customers so the food won’t be changing anytime soon. The line cooks he’s hired looks like drug users and come into work smelling heavily if cigarettes and pot. Sanitation is non existent there, Sanitation buckets are not in use and the rags they use get used for everything, spills on the floors, cleaning knives, wiping off plates and drying woks. It’s simply disgusting. I would highly advise people not to eat there if you want good Chinese good go somewhere where there is actually someone who knows what they are doing

As an owner of Lucky 8’s, I find it hard to believe that as a diner you could know and observe with that much detail about the happenings of the kitchen. As for eating out of the wok, it is called tasting, just as a bartender will taste their cocktails via a straw. We use tasting spoons. With regards to authenticity, we have never claimed to be. We are retro American/Chinese classics. Yes we have some employees that smoke cigarettes. It is a bad habit that many have, especially with kitchen staff! Finally, sanitation, simply untrue! We had our first health inspection January 26th and passed without a hitch. Unfortunately, I fear that this all stems from an unhappy ex-employee and for that I apologize. I like all the employees, they are the backbone to any good restaurant, and I try my hardest to keep everyone happy and employed!

My son is eating there right now and having a great time with friends. I have not heard any of the negative comments that were mentioned above. Wishing your restaurant a successful year!
