Find out why Capitol Hill’s art & lit PageBoy is a ‘best new magazine’ winner

Though only on its fourth issue, Capitol Hill’s own PageBoy magazine has won “best new magazine” at this year’s Association of Writers & Writing Programs. Come see local authors show you why at PageBoy’s next release party this Saturday, March 10th at 7p in Seattle University’s Hedreen Gallery.

Come feast on wine and Funyun, enjoy short animated films by Drew Christie and the sounds of Portable Music Antics.

This quarter’s release of PageBoy features readings by:

  • Sierra Nelson, who recently released her much anticipated choose-you-own-adventure/collaboration with artist Loren Erdich I Take Back the Sponge Cake.
  • Stacy Levine, author of The Girl With Brown Fur: a wildly odd and imaginative book of short stories.
  • Jeff Encke, author of 2004’s Most Wanted: A Gamble in Verse, in which decks of cards were customized with a series of love poems addressed to Saddam Hussein and other Iraqi war criminals.
  • Nico Vassilakis, Pilot Books (gone but not forgotten) regular and author of Text Loses Time, a balancing act of both verbal and visual poetries.

Also reading are Alex Bleecker, Jeremy Springsteed and John Wesley Horton
