CHS recently told you about grassroots efforts by neighborhood business groups to band together in support of their micro-Capitol Hill communities. One of those groups, the 15th Ave Merchants Association, is working together today to raise funds for the financially-threatened Volunteer Park Conservatory:

Restore the Volunteer Park Conservatory Fundraiser

The 15th Avenue Merchants Association, along with the Friends of the Conservatory, is offering customers an opportunity to help the Conservatory at Volunteer Park in the effort to raise the necessary $3.5 million needed to restore the 100 year old landmark on May 1.

Participating businesses in the unique neighborhood business blocks encourage you to shop and  eat on May 1, when businesses will donate a portion of their sales that day to the Restoration Fund at the Conservatory. Businesses sporting the Conservatory at Volunteer Park posters in their windows will be supporting this event.

Information tables in the neighborhood will be staffed by Friends of the Conservatory to answer questions about the Conservatory Restoration or talk plants.

The Conservatory is open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 PM.
