Capitol Hill Garage Sale Day 2012 Open Thread — UPDATE: Pictures

Today is the fifth annual Capitol Hill Garage Sale Day. The purpose of the day is the same as it was way back in 2008 when 21 sales participated — give people who live, work and play on Capitol Hill a day to rally around to hold garage sales, do some shopping and meet the neighbors. Here’s what it has looked like in the past. That’s probably pretty much what it will look like in 2012. We’ll add some images from the day to this thread. You should feel free to jump in and add a picture or any sweet finds in the comments. It’s a fun day to be part of — thanks to everybody, again, for being game.

  • Maps, sale details and more at capitolhillgaragesale.com
  • Visit the community lot at Broadway Hill Park, Federal at Republican, 9a-4p
  • Hours at sales will vary — many will also be open 9a-4p

It’s kind of fun to wander around and see the crap that someone thinks that people will buy. The only thing more fun is watching someone actually buy it!

I agree. I actually think these people should donate all of it and not be such cheap bastards. If you are young and renting an apartment, fine, I get it and I wish you luck. But for the most part this is a wealthy neighborhood. Come on. I give everything to the Blue Truck people once I get a good pile of stuff in my garage.
