Don’t eat lunch. Yet. Monday from 2 to 5p, Capitol Hill burger joint Li’l Woody’s is celebrating one year of correctly placed apostrophes on the backside of the Melrose Market by giving away free hamburgers.

The Marcus Lalario creation was born in the summer of 2011, the year of the hamburger on Capitol Hill. Today, you can also enjoy the beef (or a veggie patty) at north Broadway’s Blue Moon (also August 2011) or the LA-born8 oz Burger at Broadway and Union. We’ve heard rumblings (in your tummy) of more post-Jack in the Box and Burger King Broadway burgers to come. Meanwhile, Woody’s pals at Melrose Market held their own celebration on Sunday. More on that soon.
