As police continue to search for the person who shot Yancy Noll to death Friday night just blocks from his North Seattle apartment, friends and coworkers are planning a Capitol HIll memorial for the Broadway Market QFC wine steward. From B in the CHS comments:
I just wanted to let everyone following this to know that there will be a remembrance get together this coming Saturday, September 8, at The Deluxe, from 3-9 in the back pool room area. Everyone is welcome. Please join us to celebrate the life of this wonderful man. Together we can begin to heal.
Friends and family are also contributing to a memorial page on Facebook — the source of the photographs of Noll used on this post. Flowers and remembrances are also being left near the intersection where Noll was shot.
Homicide detectives continue to seek information about the driver of a silver BMW convertible who sped away from a Ravenna-area intersection Friday night after Noll was shot several times. The original suspect description was a white male in his late 20s to 30s with dark hair. Detectives now say the driver was possibly white or Asian. Police described the attack as a “road rage” incident later this weekend as more details about the suspect vehicle were released.
A police spokesperson wouldn’t say more at this time about what detectives believe lead to the murder saying only that the road rage motive “is based on preliminary investigation by our homicide detectives.” The full SPD report on the incident was not yet available for release.
Noll began working as the Broadway Market QFC wine steward in August 2010. He turned 43 last spring.
