Medics respond to East Precinct for arrested man with bullet wound — UPDATE

A man arrested Sunday in the East Precinct required a large medic response for a “superficial” bullet wound to his back. Seattle Fire units responded to 12th and Pine’s East Precinct headquarters just after 3 AM to treat the man and take him to the hospital, according to emergency response radio dispatches. We do not have details about the nature of the arrest or when the shooting that caused the man’s injuries occurred.

  1. @shutitdown?.. I assume you are not really from here. Shootings happen all over this town. Yes it is messed up, but why is Rplace to blame for the actions on the street in front of it? Most of the senseless violent crime on Capitol Hill comes from kids from the suburbs. If that is what you meant, than ,yes, not in my neighborhood. Why did you choose to live in the most populated neighborhood in Seattle if you can’t handle clubs? Have you ever been inside Rplace? It is not the sort of place that encourages or promotes violence of any sort. It is, however, a club, in a busy neighborhood, with a lot of nightlife in a rapidly changing city. You can blame every place in town if you’d like, for the crime committed nearby, that won’t stop crime. Get rid of it all and just put up a row of Starbucks. That is only putting a fresh coat of paint on a rusty wagon. Maybe we should figure out why all these shootings are happening, and how we can fix the problem, instead of blaming a random neighbor. A true resident of Capitol Hill would realize that.

  2. 2 shootings both outside gay clubs on the hill. Well Republican’s and the tea party are getting what they want; citizens arming themselves. How do you like us now gay bashers?!?We dance all night and can pop a cap in your ass while still looking fabulous doing it! :-P

  3. I am not a huge fan of R-Place but you cannot blame the club for the big issue problem. Not sure what is going on or how to fix it but there seems to be an influx of crazy ass individuals with guns in the neighborhood. I was actually shocked that they were in fact gay (Atleast I think they were in this specific instance.). I JUST wrote about how I felt something like this would not happen in the gay community because it was too small and connected. I was proved wrong… What we need to learn from both these instances of violence is that it will be present in any club enviornment and no level of security can stop a coward from obtaining a gun to prove their “Power”. This may be more of a gun law issue than a venue one.

  4. R Place is responsible because R Place likely broke the law and over served both of these people. Period. Pull their liquor license and shut em down. Over serving should be made in to a criminal act.

  5. If R Place over served them then they are 100% responsible under the law for the behavior of their patrons out on the sidewalk. Sorry. That’s part of the responsibility of being licensed to serve alcohol. You are responsible for your patrons inside and out.

  6. I understand that aspect THOUGH the mentality of a person wanting to actually use a GUN to hurt someone in this kind of atmosphere is new for Cap Hill… Believe I have seen many fights in front of R-Place along with other places on the hill but zero would EVER expect a gun to come into play. That is new and kind of scary.

  7. Seriously,

You’re coming across like you’ve got a serious axe to grind here. Yes, businesses licensed to serve alcohol are culpable when they overserve their patrons (although this happens at literally every venue in the city and probably almost every venue in the state), but to say they’re 100% to blame is a joke. The guy pulled out a gun and shot at someone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re drunk or not, a normal, decent person doesn’t do that. If you want to champion a crusade to get bars to better regulate overserving I won’t mind it a bit, but when you start implying that a business has more responsibility for the actions of an individual than the individual themselves, you’ve lost me. Stop being hyperbolic.

  8. I am glad this was cleared up as not being at R-Place but there is anouther issue that needs to be dealt with. What the fuck is up with everyone with guns on Cap Hill lately?

  9. Except for “seriously” there is no evidence whatsoever the suspect was ever even inside RPlace, let alone that anyone there over-poured. Nice jumping to conclusions, though.

  10. There’s no indication that the suspects here were ever even IN RPlace. It happened down the block. They could’ve been drinking anywhere in the city. So now, do we just blame the closest club whether it had anything to do with it, or not? Where did anything say they were RPlace customers? I guess I missed that part. Oh wait– it never said that, did it?
