Below are updates on some recent burglary arrests made around the Hill. Something we’ve missed that others should know about? Let us know.

• The 39-year-old busted inside of Callahan’s Auto after this Thanksgiving break-in has not yet been charged with a crime. According to the just-released report on the burglary investigation, police were called to the E Madison at 14th Ave garage after a woman saw the suspect bust out a window and then walking around inside the facility’s second floor just before midnight. Police arrived and surrounded the building and a K9 unit was brought in. Police located the suspect in a backroom of the garage sitting under a piece of wood. The man’s bag contained “two security cameras, three floppy disks, miscellaneous tools and an air wrench,” according to the report on the incident. The suspect was arrested and booked for investigation of burglary. Court documents don’t reveal a history of burglary but the man plead guilty in a 2010 domestic violence case and prosecutors said he had a record of assault and previous domestic violence in Nevada. He is currently out of jail pending charges in the case.
• Also not yet charged is the suspect arrested after being forced to drop his goods at gunpoint while being chased down by the ripped-off homeowner and then making this mad dash across I-5. His November 16th 20-feet leap onto the roadway injured the suspect badly enough to require extended hospitalization. At this point, the 32-year-old still hasn’t even been booked into jail. The suspect has an extensive criminal history including a 26-month sentence stemming from a guilty plea in a 2007 University District robbery case and a handful of burglary and assault convictions.
• Another for the charges pending file is the investigation around what SPD says was a major theft operation headquartered at this 12th Ave home. As we’ve reported, the owner of the computer repair shop that operated at the location was arrested and conditionally released following a November raid on the property after a ripped-off iPad owner tracked the device to the 12th Ave home. SPD has released no updates on the case since the weekend of the raid.
• Finally, if you worried a little bit about your home or apartment being broken into over the Thanksgiving holiday, here’s a look at where SPD took burglary reports over the past week. The Pike/Pine area and the western slope below Broadway appeared to have been hit hardest.
