Driver busted after series of hit-and-run crashes across Capitol Hill — UPDATE: DUI

Witnesses say a man has been arrested after a series of hit and run crashes across Capitol Hill Friday afternoon.

We’re still gathering information on what happened but SPD confirmed that it had a suspect in custody in the 1600 block of Broadway E just after 1:30 PM. A witness says it appears the drive was unaware the street dead-ends in that area. SPD also confirmed that at least nine vehicles were damaged.

We have reports of cars dinged at Harrison and Summit and in North Capitol Hill. We’re still piecing together what happened and will update as we learn more.

Thanks for the tips and information on this breaking news.

I happened to be walking down Mercer when I saw the driver deliberately aim for and hit two different vehicles. I’m incredibly grateful that I was dragging my feet or I’d have been in the intersection as he went by.

What is a drug recognition expert? Sounds fishy. Any research on how effective they are? What’s to say its drugs and not a stroke, diabetes …

Paranoia will destroy ya

Oh yes, definitely fishy. A drug recognition expert, by definition, would not recognize someone who was not on drugs.
