Thursday, 11/22
- Free street parking and a list of who’s open on Capitol Hill.
- Save your kitchen and eat out with our guide to which restaurants are serving Thanksgiving dinners.
- Join up with People’s Thanksgiving at Black Coffee Coop (501 E Pine St.). A potluck contribution welcome but not at all necessary. Starts at 3p, with mealtime targeted for 5p.
- Techno Extravaganzo helps you dance off that second helping of mashed potatoes at Electric Tea Garden (1402 E Pike), 10p.
- Just around the corner from ETG is the Turkey Day Dance Party at Pony featuring DJ Pretty Baby and Pavone. The ceiling is higher here at Pony than at ETG but floor space is smaller, so try both and see which one you like better.
Friday 11/23
- Avenue Q, that slightly naughty Broadway puppet musical, continues its run at Balagan Theatre at Erickson Theater. 8p curtain on Thur, Fri and Sat, and at 2p and 7p on Sundays; runs through Dec 16th. Don’t be fooled by the word “puppet”: leave the kids as home and make it a date night.
- Punchline Friday features Stranger Genius Award nominated filmmakers/comedians Kevin Clarke and Travis Vogt in “The Entertainment Show.” Jai Thai (235 Broadway E) 9 – 11p.
- Dina Martina Christmas Show returns to Re-Bar (1114 Howell) in all it’s hilarious glory. Tickets go fast! Show runs through December 31st, with 8:00p and 9:30p curtain times.
- Jack and Diane is NOT a lesbian werewolf movie. Yes, there are lesbians and there are a few werewolf-y horror moments, but mostly it’s a quirky indie teen romance. Also, John Mellencamp does not make an appearance, but Kylie Minogue does. Northwest Film Forum through 11/29, showtimes at 7 and 9p.
- Bel Borba Aqui is a film about the Brazilian artist, Aqui, who creates giant paintings and sculptures in abandoned spaces using abandoned materials. Northwest Film Forum through 11/29, showtimes at 7 and 9p.
- The Tudor Choir: American Folk Holiday concert program features songs and carols from New England, Appalachian, and Shaker traditions. Apparently “Tudor” means more than just King Henry VIII and his descendants.
Saturday ,11/24
- Glow in the Dark Capture the Flag, with glowsticks provided to players. All skills welcome, rules will be explained, so why the heck not try it out? Meet in front of Asian Art Museum with $5 and be on time. 6 – 8p.
- Capitol Hill Trivia Pub Crawl, is an event where you follow the trivia host around to three different bars to have a drink and play a new round at each location. Reserve your spot at seattletriviacrawls.com. Starts at Tango (1100 Pike St) 3p.
- Storytime with the Rat City Rollergirls. Fully geared up (including skates!) rollergirls will read from their favorite childrens books. Elliott Bay Book Company, 3p.
- Post Terrestrial: A Curated Night of Exploratory Music and Sound features four sound and music curators sharing their experimental selections with you. The truth is out there. Vermillion, 9p – late.

- The Seattle Amica Marathon and Half Marathon will skirt the boundaries of Capitol Hill through early afternoon. The expected travel impact: full street closure of Interlaken Blvd approximately 8:15a to 2:05p; one sided street closure of Roanoke, Lakeview Blvd and the Lakeview I-5 Overpass approximately 8:45a – 3:45p.
