No snowpocalypse but prediction for flakes on Capitol Hill

2012 on Capitol Hill started in a frozen, snowy and icy fashion. For anybody hoping for a white Christmas to end the year, the Seattle weather forecast predicts snowflakes are coming — a week early:

Tonight: Rain showers likely before 10pm, then snow showers likely. Snow level 700 feet lowering to 200 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain showers after 4pm. Snow level 300 feet. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Nothing like the snowpocalypse we saw to start the year.
