Happy Capitol Hill St. Nicholas Day

Say what you will about organized religion, Capitol Hill has a pretty fascinating mix of congregations that call it home. The groups are important elements of the Capitol Hill community, owners of significant amounts of area property and active centers of faith, culture and social activity.

This week, 13th Ave’s St. Nicholas will celebrate the 80th anniversary of its parish, and the 75th birthday of the church. Yes, if you’re coming to the feast, “wear comfortable shoes” —
