Celebrate walkability with a Capitol Hill stairway walk

There are a few slots left to be part of a day celebrating some of Seattle’s best walks:

On Saturday Feb. 9th, walkability advocates Feet First will lead hundreds of urban hikers on 15 simultaneous stairway walks in various neighborhoods across the city, including one that traverses north Capitol Hill.
These 15 free walks, on routes of varying length, are designed to celebrate our citywide legacy of public stairways and introduce walkers to the cool neighborhood sights they reveal. You can sign up for the Capitol Hill route, or use this opportunity to explore and discover a new neighborhood!
Feet First is a nonprofit organization working to make neighborhoods in our region more walkable. Stairway Walks Day will be led by volunteer Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassadors, using routes from the new book “Seattle Stairway Walks” by Cathy and Jake Jaramillo (The Mountaineers Books). All walks are limited to 20 people. The Feet First website has all the info on routes, meeting locations, distances, and how to sign up.

If you miss out on registration, check out seattlestairwaywalks.com to guide your own walk. There are also plenty more urban hikes in the area. CHS’s favorite is a stroll through Interlaken. Yours?
