[mappress mapid=”3″ alignment=”left”]Police are searching for the man who attacked his taxi driver with a butcher knife this weekend near E Olive St. and Summit Ave.
CHS reported on the Saturday night attack and robbery attempt as police searched the area following the assault just after 11 PM.
According to the just-released preliminary report on the incident, the suspect attempted to rob his driver after a $7 cab ride in a struggle that was captured on the vehicle’s video surveillance system:
The suspect was described as a white male, 25 to 30, 5’5″ to 5’6″, 250 pounds, wearing glasses, a green hoodie, blue jeans, carrying a backpack — and armed with a butcher knife.
Seattle Fire tells CHS the victim suffered hand lacerations, was treated at the scene and did not require transport to the emergency for his injuries.
Police impounded the cab “to secure the video surveillance and other possible evidence,” according to the report.
How did the suspect lock all the cab doors from the back seat?
If you can get a video screencap from the cops please post it.
According to the news last night on Q13, the cab’s video camera was not operational, so the police do NOT have a photo of the suspect.
