  • DUI check after car vs. pole on 15th Ave E: Police called out a DUI investigator Tuesday night to the scene of a car vs. utility pole crash on 15th Ave E near Roy. Thanks to the many of you who emailed and texted us about the situation. Thanks to Jacob for the picture from the scene of the crash that happened just before 8 PM. According to people in the area, aid arrived for the driver but was not needed. He was evaluated for DUI but SPD tells us he was not booked into jail. The investigation of the collision will continue.
  • World School lock down after reported fight over gun: The multilingual Seattle Public school on 21st Ave E was locked down Tuesday afternoon following a soccer field fight involving reported gang members who the victims say punched them with brass knuckles and put a gun to one person’s head for “talking bad” on Facebook. According to the report on the incident, the school went into lock down until police arrived and cleared the scene. The three victims said they were punched and kicked by the two males who came onto the school grounds and confronted them on the soccer pitch. After the brass knuckle assault, one suspect reportedly pulled a pistol from his pocket and held it to the head of one of the victims. The victim said he was able to wrestle the weapon away and throw it to the ground allowing the group to escape. A search of the area did not turn up the suspects or the gun. There are no details of injuries from the incident in the SPD report and Seattle Fire does not show a medic response to the school.
  • Officer assaulted in E Union brawl: A man was booked for assaulting an officer as he tried to punch and grab the officer’s holstered taser when police attempted to break up a drunken quarrel in the 500 block of E Union Friday night just after 9. According to the report on the incident, police arrived to find two heavily intoxicated men fighting. As the fight was broken up and the combatants were being sent on their way, one took a series of swings at one responding officer but failed to connect. According to the report, as other officers moved in, the man continued to struggle and started grabbing for the taser. More units arrived and the man was subdued and taken into custody. The officer suffered “a large abrasion to her right knee, swelling and pain to her right hand and a bump on the top of her head” and complained of a sore back before being transported to the hospital.
  • Man injured in fight with former roomie: Police were called to a fight between former roommates near Broadway and Republican Saturday night that began as a heated argument in a nearby restaurant and spilled into the street. According to the report on the April 20th incident, the uncooperative victim told police the suspect stole his backpack during the fight over a property dispute stemming from their time together living in the same residence. The victim suffered a cut that medics said required stitches but he refused treatment. The suspect — described as a “surfer dude,” white male with short blond, spiked hair and a teardrop tattoo — could not be found by police.

I don’t think there is a 500 block of E. Union. Do you mean 1500 or 2500?

True, I did not realize it continued to E. Union there.
