Debacle Records and Hollow Earth Radio produce Debacle Fest, a weekend music fest at two locations on Capitol Hill. Friday night at Fred Wildlife features nine bands,  a Saturday matinee at Highline features five bands, Saturday night at Fred Wildlife features nine bands, and then Sunday closes out  the fest at Motor in SODO Lo-Fi Performance Gallery in S. Lake Union with eight. Do the math: that’s 31 performances over 3 days. Whew. Proceeds benefit Hollow Earth Radio. Lineup details and tickets available at DebacleFest.com.

Northwest Film Forum hosts a series of films which look at cinematic approaches to architecture through four recent films. The Build World series consists of The Enigma (2011) on Friday; Architect: a Chamber Opera Inspired by Louis Kahn (2012) and The Reconversao (2012) on Saturday; and Perret in France and Algeria (2012) on Sunday.

Saturday, May 4

• Celebrate Free Comic Book Day as Phoenix Comics & Games rises on Broadway for its first day of business.

• WordPlay, a spoken word festival, occurs all day Saturday and into the evening with two workshops, a performance, and an artist reception.
