The first weekend of June on Capitol Hill started with a sunny end of May — and lots of walnut smashing, hay pile treasure hunting and squirt gun races for prizes at the 2013 Stevens Elementary Carnival. The annual fundraiser for the school’s PTA is a northern Capitol Hill tradition — and a pretty amazing showcase of parental involvement.

For more weekend things to do, see our lastest On the List including Saturday’s Capitol Hill Clean Sweep neighborhood clean-up and the first-ever CD Hopscotch event.
