Seattle Police drew their guns and made two arrests Tuesday afternoon after spotting a stolen Jeep on E Pine.

Basil sent us this message and picture from the scene:

I’m not sure exactly what happened on 10th and Pine yesterday. But around 6pm there were several police officers with their guns drawn on a person in the passenger seat of an SUV. I took some photos after the arrest. Here’s the car and a picture of the police post-guns drawn.

According to the report on the incident, an observant East Precinct officer saw a man he was familiar with for past interactions with law enforcement get into the passenger seat of the 2007 Jeep Liberty in an alley along E Pine just after 6 PM. SPD dispatch confirmed the vehicle was recorded as stolen. The officer followed the car until it turned on 10th Ave where he activated his lights as back-up arrived. “We conducted a High Risk Traffic Stop,” the officer notes.

The female driver and the male suspect were arrested for suspicion of auto theft. Police also found what is believed to be a glass meth pipe in the male suspect’s shoe.
