Friends of the victim shot on 10th Ave early last weekend filled Seattle-area social media as word spread of the young man’s death Thursday at Harborview from injuries sustained in the incident.
SPD arrested a suspect fleeing the scene who police say was carrying a gun of the same caliber from the early morning shooting on 10th Ave near E Pine. One witness identified the South Seattle 19-year-old as the person responsible while another reported hearing the suspect say he didn’t mean to do it as he was talking on his phone shortly before his arrest. The initial deadline for charges has passed but we’re checking with prosecutors for status on any decisions in the case. UPDATE: A representative for the King County Prosecutor tells CHS the case has not yet been referred to their office.
The victim has not been officially identified and we do not yet know the young man’s age but we have confirmed his death with hospital officials. Friends of the victim, a recent student at Garfield High, and members of the South Seattle hip-hop community mourned the teen on Facebook and Twitter.
Things suddenly got much bleaker for our “accidental” shooter. Send him away for a very long time
South Seattle “hip-hop community”? What exactly is that supposed to mean?
Performers, fans and management of rappers, DJs and hip-hop crews based in South Seattle
Really? :D
What do you think it means? I think your trying to cry racism, but don’t go there cause you’d be wrong!
There just trying to say he was influenced by rap music so there is racism in the quote so u stop and open your eyes, why was that part even important in the story
