The 22-million gallon Volunteer Park Reservoir is, once again, holding water following a longer-than-expected dry spell caused by a parts delay as Seattle Public Utilities officials begin a two-year trial to determine if the landmark-protected resource can be decommissioned and fully transitioned into its next life as a historically-respectful water feature. CHS wrote about the 22-million gallon opportunity here earlier this year.
Thanks to Chris for the photos of the refilling reservoir. With the storm deluge expected in the next 24 hours, expect to see an extra gallon or two in Volunteer Park.
I wish we could remove the ugly chain link fence and barbed wire.
