You, too, can own a piece of the old Capitol Club as Bauhaus prepares to move in

1049071_10150319013269999_575817395_oSunday brings a chance for you to own a piece of the old Capitol Club — it also marks the start of the build-out and move-in for Bauhaus as the cafe prepares for its final day of business October 5th at Melrose and Pine.

Jason Brotman, owner of the Baltic Room, is working with Bauhaus ownership on the move but tells us rumors of the new Bauhaus opening as a cafe and bar aren’t true. The club is to be completely renovated as a coffee shop, Brotman says. What will happen to the space in two years when Bauhaus is ready to move back into the massive development at Melrose and Pine? Stay tuned.

CHS reported earlier on the exit for the Capitol Club and planned two-block exodus for Bauhaus as it approaches its 20th anniversary. If everything goes as planned, the former Capitol Club space will be transitioned and ready for its first espresso shots by mid-October.

In the meantime, Brotman and the Bauhaus crew are holding a sale Sunday to empty the Capitol Club of everything from furniture to a giant freezer that has accumulated at the nightspot as it operated at the location for the past 17 years.

Restaurant and Bar supplies galore!!! We’ve recently acquired the old Capitol Club space located on 414 E Pine on Capitol Hill and are liquidating most of its assets. Plates, kitchen tools, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, misc. bar stuff, tables, pillows, lamps, books, furniture (outdoor and in), bar stools, chairs- really…the entire contents of a two story bar/restaurant. For those of you looking for major restaurant equipment- we’ll be offering a preview of the big stuff and then taking bids on the major equipment, fridges, a meat slicer, prep and a stand up freezer, etc. SALE IS THIS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 22 FROM 3PM-8PM. All items are sold as is. The location of the sale will be at THE CAPITOL CLUB at 414 E PINE. Street parking only.

I was thinking if they took out the bar and storage upstairs, left all the couches and other rooms downstairs alone, it would be a very useable space for them.
