Weekend Highlights
Thursday night, the two men battling to be Seattle’s mayor come to Capitol Hill to make their case — in front of a live audience. The Capitol Hill Mayoral Forum begins at 7 PM at Barboza (beneath Neumos) — but you’ll want to show up for the early mingle time starting at 6:30 PM so you can vote early and vote often in the candidate cocktail race pitting The Murray — a shot of Jameson and a tall boy — The Murray Mule vs. The McGinn & Tonic. Free tickets are almost gone — after that, you’re on the wait list. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Broadway Performance Hall is host to the Seattle Sherlock Convention,  a celebration of all things Sherlock. Events include an art jam, demonstration, music, cosplay, games, film shorts, writing workshop, panels, and more. Admission at door ranges from  $35 for one day to $75 for 3-day VIP.

On Saturday, the Seattle Faerie Festival enchants Volunteer Park, 12 – 6p. The festival offers music, games, art, and vendors, and a mystical map. The Conservatory gets in on the magic by offering a drop-in Fairy Garden Workshop until 3p. The festival invites “all faeries, gnomes, elves, wizards, magicians, queens, pirates, dragons, knights, pixies, gelflings, nature spirits, hobbits and anyone else of nature and magic.”  Wotan the Faerie Smasher,  Fairy Princess Lolly and the Seattle Gnome will be at the festival, and the band Wilde at Heart plays at 5pm.
