The holidays are here. We’ve already started our roster of the 2013 Capitol Hill food/coat/sock/etc. giving drives. We’ll have more about volunteer opportunities soon. Below, you’ll find our 2013 menu of Capitol Hill food and drink providers planning special Thanksgiving / Thanksgivukkah feasts — or providing sides and pies if you don’t feel like cooking everything on your own. “We thought a gluten free pre-Thanksgiving dinner would be a great way to showcase what we do,” Capitol Cider’s new chef Erik Jackson said about his plans for Thanksgiving.

Let us know in comments about anything we should add to the list.

CAPITOL HILL FEASTS

  • Capitol Cider — “gluten free pre-Thanksgiving menu”

Reservations for the special Nov. 25, pre-Thanksgiving dinner are encouraged and can be made for between 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. that evening by calling Capitol Cider at (206) 397-3564. Guests are invited to leave a message with their desired reservation if they’re sent to voicemail. The restaurant’s bar will remain open later into the evening.

“For anyone who wants to celebrate with friends before the actual day, or get gluten free menu ideas for their own feast at home, we invite them to come celebrate with us,” added Chef Jackson, who is also a Tom Douglas alum. “We’ll do all the work so the people visiting us can just kick back and have a heartwarming meal and some great cider.”

For $45, each guest will receive the full Thanksgiving menu plus one glass of Finnriver Cranberry Rosehip HardCider. Additional cider pairings will be optional and bottles will be sold to go. The full special holiday menu will be as follows:

As they have done for the past couple of years, Toscana Pizza is hosting a full Thankgiving turkey dinner — for free. They’re at Summit and Mercer (between the Summit Pub — which will also be open — and Top Pot / Sun Liquor).

I’ve never gone because I can afford to pay for my meals and I always have somewhere to be on Thanksgiving, but they’re good people so if you’re alone and/or unable to afford the full turkey-day experience…
