A production crew complete with big trailers, and what appeared to be snow-making machines kept Capitol Hill buzzing with speculation about what exactly was being filmed at the Odd Fellows building and Linda’s Tavern Tuesday.
James Keblas, director of the Seattle Office of Film and Music said the shoot was a large commercial production — “one of the biggest we’ve had all year” — and that the effort was wrapped as of Tuesday night following a two-week schedule at locations across the state.
“This is a big one,” Keblas told CHS. “They’re employing over 40 union wage jobs, if not more.”
Keblas said the “Commercialize Seattle Campaign” helped bring the shoot to Capitol Hill.
As for what product was being advertised, CHS heard rumors for everything from Sony to Chevy to Eddie Bauer to Miracle Whip. We’re hoping it involves mayonnaise.
Keblas would only describe it as a “national or international” advertisement that will be on the air in two weeks.
“It makes the state and city look very good,” he said. “They injected a lot of money into the neighborhood” — not to mention keeping the friendly neighborhood news blog busy fielding questions from curious onlookers on Capitol Hill.
I hope it’s for Google Glass, just for poops and giggles.
