Blotter | Broadway carjacking reported, SPD releases Comet burglary details

  • Broadway car theft: Police responded to a bloodied victim in a reported Capitol Hill carjacking last Sunday night. According to radio dispatches, police found a man at a Pike/Pine bar who said he had been knocked in the head and had his keys and car stolen in an assault in the 1400 block of Broadway around 10:15 that night. The car stolen was reportedly a Corolla. The man suffered a cut to the back of his head in the robbery.
  • Pine/Minor street robbery: Police were called to a Broadway business in the 1700 block Monday night just before 8 to a report of an injured victim apparently assaulted in a street robbery near Pine and Minor. Police were looking for suspects described as a Hispanic female with bright red hair and an Hispanic male wearing a red hat and carrying a blanket and bicycle. No immediate arrests were reported.
  • Safeway booze bandit busted: A suspected liquor shoplifter who was brazen enough to return to the scene of his crime Tuesday afternoon was busted by police. According to SPD radio dispatches, the male suspect was arrested in connection with an early afternoon rip-off of a bottle of liquor at the 14th/John Safeway when he returned to the store and was spotted by staff who reported him to police.
  • Shoplift suspect puts stroller to use: A known shoplifting suspect utilizing a stroller to collect his booty was busted and trespassed from the Broadway Rite Aid last Thursday around 10 AM:Screen Shot 2013-11-27 at 11.26.12 AM
