Uli Steidl — bib #9 — made it two Seattle Marathons in a row and #474 Sheila Croft got started on her own winning streak as thousands of runners circled and ran through this corner of Capitol Hill on their way to the finish line at Seattle Center.
Steidl, 41, and Croft, 39, proved the value of experience and familiarity Sunday. They’ve both lead the pack in recent marathon activity in the city. Meanwhile, a contingent of exuberant fans came out to cheer at the big turn through the base of Interlaken Park and helped the runners keep pace heading into the final miles of the long run.
