At Seattle U Thursday night

If you don’t have the spirit of the season yet, you’ll have no choice but to feel at least slightly more seasonal after this weekend on Capitol Hill — it’s jam packed with a Santa’s belly-sized helping of holiday good cheer.

Thursday, CHS helped ring the whole thing in with the annual community Christmas tree lighting at Seattle University. Our plans to liberate the reindeer — and see if she really knew how to fly — were foiled. But a good time was had by all, we’re certain.

1453381_718560421510235_1953550241_nFriday, the Capitol Hill Block Party’s Holiday Hotspot takes over Pike/Pine for three days of revelry including elves, caroling Sisters and a Capitol Hill-styled Santa. There will also be a tree lot complete with aPodment-sized greenery to benefit SASG. SASG volunteers are also manning their 17th/Thomas lot as usual this weekend.

On the other side of the Capitol Hill equation, there will a slightly more hometown-y feel as Stevens Elementary hosts its annual tree sale, pancake breakfast and student pageant.

UPDATE: Here’s some of the early Hotspot shenanigans we found underway in Pike/Pine Friday afternoon:
