The first baby born in what will likely be more than 1,700 births in 2014 at Group Health’s Capitol Hill campus arrived Wednesday morning — and promptly moved back to Mount Baker. We’re hoping you’ll visit from time to time, Lucas Douglas Wilcox. Keep in touch.

Group Health’s Capitol Hill Campus Welcomes Its First Baby of the New Year

SEATTLE, Jan. 3, 2014 – Group Health welcomed its first baby of the New Year Jan. 1 at 8:46 a.m. on its Capitol Hill Campus. Lucas Douglas Wilcox, who weighed 8 lbs. and measured 20” long, was born to first-time parents Dana Robbins and Mike Wilcox. Dana and Mike both grew up in – and are now residents of – Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood.

Lucas was not only a New Year’s baby, he was born exactly 15 years to the date of his parents’ first date.

“There were a lot of firsts. Our first child, he was the first baby born at Group Health on the first, and the first marked our first date,” said new dad Mike Wilcox.

In 2013, there were 1,730 babies born at in Group Health’s Family Beginnings Birthing Center.
