Pink Family Carnival of Love returns to Capitol Hill with ponies, trains

1490875_578710158869753_1318898856_oCelebrating one year of commitment, the Pink Family Carnival of Love returns to Capitol Hill Sunday, February 16 at Fred Wildlife Refuge. The first, in 2013, brought together founders Chris and Fae Pink for their wedding and now they’re spreading the love with a public event you can bring the kids to.

The festivities kick off at 3 PM with the comedian Emmett Montgomery.

Featuring the usual carnival affairs (cotton candy and snow cones) the event boasts “a pony, as well as a horse (rides for kids and adults),” said Peaches Myers of Fred Wildlife Refuge. The equestrian rides run from 3-5 PM and a train will also be on hand to whisk away passengers. Among the “fun carnival stuff” you’ll find will be skee-ball, dancing and some reminders of Valentine’s Day — you’re encouraged to wear pink to the party.

The event will fold in cherub Jonny Boy of the Can-Can Castaways, and put on display “musical performances as well as aerial artists.” Myers says you can expect several performers, and tells CHS to “expect the unexpected… (It is) going to be a big pink carnival of love.”

The event concludes at 8 PM. You can RSVP on Facebook here:
