•  Armed carjacking: A male victim suffered a possible broken arm in a gunpoint carjacking reported early Monday morning outside Waid’s nightclub at 12th and Jefferson. Police were searching for the armed suspect, his accomplice and the silver Honda Civic stolen in the hold-up. Police and Seattle Fire were called to the area around 4:10 AM to reports that a male victim had suffered an arm injury in an armed carjacking outside the club. CHS has reported on the City of Seattle’s efforts to convince the state board not renew the nightclub’s liquor license after a series of incidents at the club in recent years. The carjacking is the second armed robbery of a car in the area this month following an incident near 15th Ave and E Madison on March 1st. UPDATE: SPD has more details in their preliminary report including that the victim is an employee at the club and that the man tried to jump on the car as the carjackers fled:
  

  An employee at a Central District nightclub told police he was carjacked by two men as he was leaving work early this morning.

  The victim got off work at about 4 AM and walked to his car on 14th and E. Jefferson St, where two men men approached him asked for a cigarette.

  As the victim was reaching for a cigarette, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim’s head, and demanded the victim’s car keys.

  After the victim handed the suspects the keys, they quickly jumped in the victim’s silver Honda Civic and started to drive away.

  The victim told officers he jumped onto the hood of his car and held on for several blocks until the suspect driving the car slammed on the brakes, sending the victim flying into the street near 12th and Jefferson. The suspects then sped away.

  After the suspects drove off, the victim was able to flag down officers who called for medics to treat the victim’s injured arm.

  After medics treated the victim at the scene, he said he would go to the hospital on his own. He only provided police with was only a vague description of the suspects—describing them as black males in their mid-20s—and declined to provide officers with any specifics about any property kept inside his stolen car.

• Pedestrian, biker hit by cars on busy Monday morning: A pedestrian at 23rd and Aloha and a biker at Broadway and Howell suffered non-life threatening injuries in collisions with motor vehicles Monday morning. In the 23/Aloha incident reported around 8:22 AM, a pedestrian crossing 23rd Ave was struck by a vehicle. The northbound lanes of 23rd were closed during the medical response for the pedestrian’s injuries. We’re waiting for more details from Seattle Fire about the condition of the victim but the situation was not reported to be life threatening according to radio dispatches. Meanwhile, a few minutes later along the Broadway Bikeway at E Howell, a vehicle reportedly struck a bicyclist, drawing a Seattle Fire response to the scene to treat the rider’s non-life threatening injuries. To add to the mess on the roadways, a truck traveling Lake Washington Blvd got stuck on one of the oft-struck Arboretum’s pedestrian bridges around 8:45 AM. There were no injuries reported in that incident. UPDATE: Seattle Fire reports that both the pedestrian and the biker suffered minor injuries, fortunately, in the collisions.
