Seattle Fire quickly knocked down a stubborn attic fire in a house on 18th Ave near E Denny early Friday night.

The roof and attic fire was first reported at 5:17 PM inside a house at 1815 18th Ave. Firefighters had difficulty accessing the attic through the house but were able to knock down the flames from an aerial ladder with 11 minutes of arriving. The fire was officially declared “tapped” about 10 minutes later.

The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate wiring and the cause of the fire, according to Seattle Fire radio dispatches.

In 2010, CHS reported on this fire inside the same 1904-built home.
