- Cops bust window breaker: A man seen breaking the windows of 11th Ave’s Vermillion art bar with stones was arrested only a few blocks away in a peculiar Tuesday afternoon attack. According to East Precinct radio dispatches, the man was chased down by police near 13th and Pike around 12:55 PM after being seen busting the windows and glass door at the bar. A witness said the man had a bag of rocks. Police summoned Seattle Fire to the scene of the arrest to treat the man for a small laceration to his arm. UPDATE 3:36 PM: All’s well… From Vermillion’s Facebook page: “The guys from Perkins Glass came out after hours and had this all fixed up within a half hour. The BEST!” UPDATE 4/2/14 9:10 AM: It seems likely the man arrested in the case is suffering from mental illness. According to the police report on the incident, the 25-year-old told officers he broke Vermillion’s window because “God told him to do it.” He has a record of recent arrests including trespassing.
Hey there’s Officer Cynthia! Love her! Good job nabbing the hooligan, SPD.
“the hooligan”, god.. you idiot..
I’m working with the city to see that he gets some mental health assistance. Criminal charges are pretty much pointless as of now.
