Capitol Hill Block Party announces full 2014 lineup

IMG_9331-600x400You already know the headliners and the details on what’s new — expanded VERA Stage, for one — now the Capitol Hill Block Party producers have announced the full lineup for the 2014 festival. The new additions probably won’t do much to quell the “never heard of them” critics but KEXP regulars should find their appetites whetted for the summer festival. This is also the day that local bands involving good folks from right here in your neighborhood are stoked to see their band listed on the official roster for the first time. You scheduling and planning types will still have to wait to learn who is playing on which day of the three-day music and Pike/Pine nightlife celebration that draws more than 30,000 revelers to Capitol Hill. Three-day passes are currently on sale with single-day sales for the July 25th-July 27th weekend to come. You can learn more at capitolhillblockparty.com.

Below is the announcement from CHBP and the full roster of performers.

Capitol Hill Block Party 2014 Announces Full Music Lineup

The Vera Stage Presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card Now Featuring National Acts, Including Dum Dum Girls, The Julie Ruin, and Robert Delong

[SEATTLE, Wash.] The Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) today announced the complete music lineup for the July 25-27 festival in Seattle. CHBP will also expand the production and talent on the Vera Stage presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card. National artists such as Dum Dum Girls, The Julie Ruin, Robert Delong, EMA, and Man Or Astro Man?, as well as Seattle-based artists including Cataldo and Iska Dhaaf, will appear on the expanded ALL AGES outdoor stage for the annual weekend event.

“The expanded Vera Stage is a direct result of feedback from Block Party attendees,” said Jason Lajeunesse, the festival’s owner and producer. “For the last couple years, about half of the national acts played the 21 and over Neumos stage, which meant some people missed out on their favorite bands. This year, we’re making the incredible lineup of national acts available to everyone.”

Starting at 9 a.m. today, three-day passes can be purchased at a discounted price of $125. Single-day ticket information and details regarding the visual arts program, creative installations, digital activities and more will be announced in early June. CHBP will continue to offer a limited number of VIP tickets for $250, while supplies last. VIP Packages include express entry, limited edition apparel, a CHBP poster, gifts from event sponsors, and access to the outdoor VIP beer garden with hosted snacks and beverages.

I’m impressed. How long did it take to put that list together?
