Gunman in custody after Seattle Pacific shootings

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 4.26.52 PMAt least four people were shot and more were injured in a chaotic attack by an armed gunman Thursday afternoon at private Seattle Pacific University just across the Ship Canal from Fremont on the backside of Queen Anne. One victim is confirmed dead.

Emergency units from Capitol Hill’s East Precinct headquarters and Fire Station 25 joined the massive response that began around 3:25 PM with reports that a male shooter had opened fire inside the school’s Otto Miller Hall a day before the final Friday of the school year.

Police took the reported shooter into custody shortly after arriving at the scene. Students were sent into hiding and many remained waiting inside classrooms as police made sure the area was secure more than 45 minutes after the shooting began.

The Seattle Times has additional details and updates from Seattle Police.

Seattle Fire said there was one male and one female victim with life-threatening injuries.
