  • 12th/Marion shooting: Police say one victim was reported grazed by a bullet in a 2 AM shooting in an E Marion just off 12th Ave early Sunday. SPD units spread throughout the area to search for a suspect last seen wearing a white and orange striped polo as he fled. Police found a white Mercedes at the scene believed to have been driven by the shooter and an uncooperative female passenger. A K9 unit tracked the shooter to a nearby construction site but a search of the area did not turn up the man who reportedly opened fire. Police found one handgun ditched near the scene and a Glock magazine at another location, according to East Precinct radio dispatches. There were reportedly at least two guns involved in the incident. Police had been called to the area just prior to the shooting to a report of a fight across from Seattle University.

UPDATE: Here’s a Seattle U security bulletin on the incident. SPD hasn’t yet posted any additional info. Curiously, SU’s bulletin doesn’t mention firearms:
On 07/27/2014, at approximately 2:03am a non-SU affiliated male assaulted 2 non-SU affiliated females at 12th Avenue and E. Marion St. after a verbal argument. The male was described as dark skinned, 6 feet, medium build, wearing an orange t-shirt, blue jeans, and white and orange tennis shoes. The male was last seen inside a white Mercedes sedan leaving the area in an unknown direction. Seattle Police responded and investigated the incident. DPS has increased patrols in the 12th Avenue corridor.UPDATE: SPD reports the primary suspect was tracked down and another suspect was also arrested in the incident:

A man was grazed by gunfire and three people were arrested on Capitol Hill early this morning.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of East Spring Street around 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired. When police arrived they found a man on the ground who had been grazed by gunfire. The man was treated at the scene by Firefighters.

A K9 officer and bicycle officers tracked a man believed to have fled the shooting scene inside a construction site and took him into custody.

A car linked to the shooting was stopped with several people inside. The vehicle was searched and a stolen gun was located. Two of the people inside were arrested for investigation of being felons in possession of a firearm.

Officers found shell casings and a handgun a few blocks stashed in some bushes from where the shooting occurred.
