A double-header of LGTBQ friendly sports and a run/walk helped raise money for good causes on Capitol Hill over the weekend. Images from Saturday’s Jockstraps and Glitter rugby kickball match, Sunday afternoon’s Bat ‘n’ Rouge softball game and Sunday morning’s SummerRun and Walk are below. You’ll also find a bunch of great photos from the events in the CHS Flickr pool.

CHS wrote here about the longtime favorite Bat ‘n’ Rouge fundraiser pitting Dykes vs. Drag Queens playing out its game for the first time just a block from the Capitol Hill Block Party in an effort to drum up new interest in the annual event. Bat ‘n’ Rouge benefits Hill-based Seattle Area Support Group. Check out sasgcc.org you’d like to give or learn more about the organization.

The annual Jockstraps and Glitter game benefitted The Capitol Hill Alano Club, apparently returned to service after a decision to dissolve in 2012.

The 20th annual SummeRun & Walk for Ovarian Cancer wound through First Hill and Capitol Hill. Getting off the starting line at 8:15am, some 4,500 people ran or walked the 5K route that began at Minor and Madison, at the First Hill campus of event sponsor Swedish Hospital, and reached 12th and Aloha before looping back. This year, SummeRun raised $418,000 dollars for the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research

Teams with the top donations were carol’s cause, with, $43,500, Team Mary Anne, with $22,211, Mary’s Messengers, with $10,698, TEAM LESLIE, with $9,270, and Cookie’s Dream Team, with $7,500.
